Summer Neuroscience in Salamanca
Salamanca, Spain
The Summer Neuroscience in Salamanca program offers students an international perspective on neuroscience at the historic University of Salamanca, founded in 1218. Students explore neuroscience through English-taught courses and immerse in Spanish culture in a vibrant, student-filled city known for its medieval charm and lively atmosphere. Spanish language courses complement the science curriculum, making this an ideal experience for students pursuing neurobiology or premedical studies. The program is open to qualified upper-level undergraduates from the USA and the EU.

The Maymester program in Florence, Italy, offers students an immersive experience in the birthplace of the Renaissance, exploring multiculturalism through the lenses of individualism and collectivism. Weekends are free for independent travel, providing additional opportunities for cultural exploration.

This Faculty-Led Summer Program in Vienna, Austria, offers an in-depth exploration of women and gender, examining cultural practices and ideologies to better understand issues like gender roles, socialization, LGBTQ topics, and the impact of race, culture, and class. Students will learn through classroom instruction and immersive experiences in one of the world’s most gender-sensitive cities, exploring Vienna’s rich culture, history, art, and politics.
Tuition-Based Program: Tuition-Based Programs charge in-state, New England Regional, and out-of-state UConn tuition rates based on students’ residency. Tuition charges will appear on students’ UConn fee bills, along with other UConn fees as listed on the program’s budget sheet. Students may pay housing through their UConn fee bill or directly to their host university depending on the program.

Yonsei International Summer School

The Yonsei International Summer School (YISS) offers students the chance to immerse themselves in Korean and East Asian culture while studying in a global environment. Held in Seoul, this short-term program provides 4-week and 6-week courses across a wide range of subjects, with over 100 classes taught in English (except Korean language courses). Students can also participate in cultural activities like Taekwondo, Korean ceramics, folk music, calligraphy, and traditional dance, alongside excursions to museums, palaces, temples, and performances throughout the city.
Finances are an integral part of the program selection and planning process. Research scholarships early to meet application deadlines and request feedback on essays from advisors and the Writing Center.

The Tso Lin Scholarship Fund for Advanced Studies in International Affairs supports College of Liberal Arts and Sciences students who participate in an approved international program administered by Experiential Global Learning. Priority is given to students who demonstrate financial need. Students will be reviewed for eligibility through their Experiential Global Learning program application; no additional application is required.
