As a French major or minor, you can:

Fee-Based Programs: Fee-Based Programs charge Program Fees, not UConn tuition. Program Fees will appear on students’ UConn fee bills, along with other UConn fees as listed on the program’s budget sheet.
Summer in Toulouse
This program is offered every summer and provides a four-week full-immersion experience in Toulouse, France. Students earn 6-7 UConn credits while exploring French history and culture, engaging with locals, and visiting historic sites and modern industries. Daily activities and excursions offer opportunities to practice the language and experience life in the vibrant “Pink City.”
Tuition-Based Program: Tuition-Based Programs charge in-state, New England Regional, and out-of-state UConn tuition rates based on students’ residency. Tuition charges will appear on students’ UConn fee bills, along with other UConn fees as listed on the program’s budget sheet. Students may pay housing through their UConn fee bill or directly to their host university depending on the program.
Federal University of Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées (UFTMiP)
Toulouse, the capital of the Occitanie region, is known for its vibrant student life and welcoming atmosphere. Home to the historic University of Toulouse—Jean Jaurès (UT2J), founded in 1229, the university offers a wide range of disciplines across its multiple campuses. With around 4,000 international students and numerous exchange agreements, UT2J provides a dynamic, multicultural environment. Students have access to various campus services and activities, making Toulouse an ideal place to study and experience French culture.
ISA: Semester at the American Business School Paris
The American Business School Paris (ABSP) is located in the 10th arrondissement, near the lively Canal Saint Martin, known for its student-filled cafés and dynamic atmosphere. Most courses are taught at the Parodi campus, with some offered at the Eaubonne campus outside of Paris. ABSP provides an international learning environment in the heart of the city, offering students a unique academic and cultural experience.
ISA: Semester French Language and Liberal Arts at Institut Catholique de Paris
The Semester French Language and Liberal Arts program at Institut Catholique de Paris is designed for international students at all levels of French, from beginner to advanced. As a global hub for diplomacy, Geneva is home to major international organizations such as the Red Cross, WHO, and UN agencies. This program allows you to engage with high-level diplomatic processes while exploring Geneva’s cultural and gastronomic offerings. Students will also visit key institutions like the OECD in Paris and the European Union headquarters in Brussels, gaining firsthand insight into EU-related issues and intergovernmental organizations.

The CEPA Foundation – Intercultural Leadership Program in Strasbourg, France offers an immersive summer experience designed to enhance your leadership skills. Held at the European Study Center, this engaging program combines classroom instruction with high-profile guest lectures, site visits, and practical training in areas like human rights, mediation, dispute resolution, social responsibility, peacebuilding, and intercultural negotiation. Students will stay at the beautiful Château de Pourtalès, an 18th-century French chateau, and have the opportunity to visit cultural sites and important institutions in both France and Germany. While the program doesn’t include French language courses, the location provides an ideal setting for those eager to experience French culture firsthand. The program also includes housing, courses and transcripts, daily breakfast, group meals, and more.
